Fair-weather + birch bloom = bad times for pollen allergy sufferers!
After the weekend the flowering of birch is now in full swing in the lowlands and valleys all over Austria. The fair-weather boosts pollen release and this week pollen allergy sufferers can expect the peak in birch pollen concentrations and allergenic burden.
Hornbeam is also flowering. It is part of the birch family and its pollen can intensify the allergenic burden for pollen allergy sufferers sensitized to alder, birch and hazel.
