Measurements

Measurements of the pollen content in the air are the fundament of every pollen forecast. Pollen traps are used in aerobiology for this purpose and answer the question of what was and is in the air after manual work and laborious evaluation.

Each sample is divided in days and bi-hourly sections. The load can then be assessed daily and bi-hourly. Pollen is determined and counted on the slide by the means of a light microscope. Pollen counts are transformed into pollen concentrations for comparability. Finally we attain values in pollen per m3 of air. Those values are used for the pollen forecast, the graphs, models and many more services here.
