Situation and medium-term forecast
Snow and rain limit pollination!
The precipitation throughout the weekend did not allow much pollination throughout Austria. At the start of the week the weather forecast predicts temperatures around 5° C in climatically favoured areas.
Therefore, low to moderate burden caused by hazel pollen must be expected in, especially in the lowlands. Some alder catkins may also reach readiness to flower soon but it will take some more days of sunshine until the pollen concentration reaches the threshold to cause allergenic burden.
Currently the weather forecast predicts more rain- and snowfall as the week progresses, so no major burden caused by pollination must be expected.
What else: The pollen spectrum contains also pollen from cypresses and yews.
