deciduous trees, leaves arranged alternately in two rows, heart-shaped leaf blade, axial inflorescences, consisting of three or more flowers, one elongated spathaceous bract is intertwined with the flowers, flowers are hermaphrodite and radially symmetrical, white to yellow petals, indehiscent fruit
Allergenicity:
low, the intensity of the scent of the flowers may be an irritant
