native to North America and Eurasia, grows on river banks and in woods

Appearance:

deciduous trees or shrubs, dioecious, leaves are triangular, heart-shaped or uniform, the leaf margin is smooth or lobed, long leaf stalk, flowers are stalked, drooping catkins, with male and female flowers resembling one another, the fruit is a capsule containing flying seeds that are scattered by the wind

Allergenicity:

low, the frequently conjectured poplar pollen allergy is assumed as a result of observation of the flying poplar “cotton”, but this consists only of the seed filaments of the fruit and does not in itself trigger any allergy, it usually occurs at the time when grass pollen is in the ai
