Situation and medium-term forecast

The Spaeth’s alder is still flowering!

Due to the current frosty weather conditions, no widespread distribution of airborne allergens occurs. Only very few pollen grains were recorded in our sampling sites.

The Spaeth’s alder continues flowering but has already passed its peak pollination period between Christmas and new year. Since this tree is a non-native species in Austria, it is only found cultivated in parks or as ornamental trees. Pollen allergy sufferers may experience allergenic burden in close vicinity to such trees.
