In the Austrian lowlands (except Carinthia), the hazel pollen season peak has passed, and the amount of airborne hazel pollen is decreasing. Pollen allergy sufferers reacting to hazel will have to expect a low to moderate allergenic burden. In moderate elevations of the Alps and the Bohemian Massif, hazel is now reaching flower readiness and pollen allergy sufferers should expect in these regions a low to moderate allergenic burden.
