Pollenatlas
Galium anisophyllon
species: Galium anisophyllon (Bedstraw)
plant family: Rubiaceae
at aerobiological analyses usually achieved determination level: Rubiaceaephotos: Landesagentur für Umwelt, Bozen (Italy)
description:
outline: more or less circular in polar view, circulate-ovate in equatorial view
size: polar axis: 15.3 (15-16) µm, equatorial axis 17.9 (16-19) µm
apertures: zonocolpate pollen with mostly 8- more seldom 7 or 9 – narrow, acute colpi. Membrane of the colpi covered by exine remnants.
pollen wall: exine up to 1 µm thick, microreticulate. Reticulum scarcely visible, even under 1000x magnification. Intine about 0.5µm thick.
additional remarks: very similar pollen are found in further representatives of the Rubiaceae family (Rubia, Asperula, Cruciata, Sherardia)remarks to the plant:
A central- and southern European weed of the mountain ranges. It prefers calcareous soils in grassy and bare places. Leaves are ovate to lanceolate, arranged in whorls of 5-8. The small, yellowish-white flowers stand in a conical inflorescence. Flowers from June to September.Ginkgo biloba
species: Gingko biloba
plant family: Ginkgoaceae
at aerobiological analyses usually achieved determination level: Ginkgo bilobaphotos: Landesagentur für Umwelt, Bozen (Italy)
description:
outline: circular to elliptical
size: polar axis: 28.7 (26.7-32.1) µm, equatorial axis: 26.1 (24.7-27.7) µm
apertures: monocolpate with long, wide germination fissure (sulcus)
pollen wall: thin, scabrate exine, thin intine which extends beyond the colpus.
note: Sometimes opposite the colpus the pollen grain shows wrinkles. The pollen wall encloses a motile, free swimming sperm.remarks to the plant:
Gingko, a dioecious gymnosperm, is the sole living link between the lower and higher plants, between ferns and conifers. Native from China and Japan, it is an often planted ornamental tree. Very characteristic are the fan shaped and bilobed leaves. Flowers appear in April. Male flowers are arranged in cylindirical yellow-green catkins, the females are long-stalked and stand in groups of 2-3. Some months ly between pollination and insemination.
